Halloween tidbit

halloween-candy-by-phanton-kittyIt is that time of year where we not only are bringing candy into the house, but sending our kids out into the neighborhood to get more.

Those “Fun size” candy bars seem innocent by looking at their size, but those calories can add up fast! And we all know that eating just one is never the case.
Milky Way – 75 calories
Reese’s PB Cup- 110 calories
Snickers- 80 calories
Butterfinger- 100 calories
Baby Ruth- 85 calories
Mounds or Almond Joy- 80 calories

Here are a few helpful tips to keep you on track:

  • When purchasing your Halloween candy, choose a candy that you do not enjoy. This will help prevent you from being tempted to indulge before the kids arrive.
  • Once your kids return from trick-or-treating sort out the candy they won’t eat and pass it out to the trick-or-treater that are still arriving at your door.
  • Have you kids sort their candy out, let them keep some and donate the rest. Nancy Jeter at the Ronald McDonald House said they would be more than happy to receive donations of wrapped candy. And the great thing is you can bring that to the Warehouse on a workout day and we will make sure we get that to them.
