Cool Weather Comfort food

When the weather gets cooler the craving for comfort food starts to kick in. Eating healthy doesn’t mean giving up that cool weather comfort. Some of your favorites can still keep you on track with a few tweaks. Remember your nutrition doesn’t have to be perfect, it just needs to be better!

Chili: Making a few adjustments to your favorite chili recipe is easy. Instead of ground beef try some lean ground turkey instead. Also use black beans in place of kidney beans. With just a couple of changes you now have a healthier version of a fall favorite!

Pot roast: In lieu of the traditional beef or chuck roast substitute a lean pork loin. Also try chopping up some sweet potatoes to replace your russet or red potatoes. The flavor of the dish will still be there with your favorite pot roast seasoning and you have a leaner dish to enjoy!
